Camera Composition

Touching up on one more version of Camera Knowledge is the last topic which will be Camera Composition. We have covered Camera Angles (High angle etc…) and Camera Shots (Aerial shot etc…). Camera Composition is important for the photographer of the shot, Framing and Depth are key factors in this element of a shot. The Framing of a shot plays a role that is very important to the meaning of the production. It is usually broken into thirds  and this rule is called Rule of thirds. Usually when an object/character is in the upper left side or top of the frame, it shows power over the rest of the characteristics of the shot. This shot composition is called Standard focus. Standard focus is when the background is visible enough but not enough to distract you from the foreground which is the main focus to be able to show the characters expression and being able to develop an understanding of their feeling. Also the most common u...

Camera Shots 3

We have reached the conclusion of the Camera Shots Trilogy... Definitely my most entertaining blogs to write so far. I had fun being able to take these pictures as they are known as different shots and to discuss what this blog will be about... different angles. This shot is called a high angle shot. Just like an aerial shot this is the angle it per takes in. You do not have to be standing right above the character but high enough to be able to show that dominance over them and weakness to you. This character is weakened, gloomy, saddened, and etc.. It gives as well the audience a level of sympathy that is to be shown for the character as they are in defeat. This is what you call a Canted or Dutch angle shot. This angle is to be portrayed by disorientating the audience with a twisted like perspective as if it was leaning or turned at a side. This angle shows the psych...

Camera Shots 2

Continuing on the learning of Camera shots... I was able to learn about more than just the master/establishment shot. On this blog I will go over another example of a Camera shots and will undergo and explain it as well.  This shot is called an Aerial shot. As you can clearly see it is shot from above the characters and the setting at a high angle. This shot gives us another point of view of the scenery and what we are to engage in. Aerial shots are usually shot to show the surroundings that relate to the character, sometimes mostly showing loneliness and vulnerability or weakness..                                          This shot shown to the right is what is known as a Mid-Shot. A mid-shot is a shot that allows the audience to be able to understand the body language of the character in the main focus. The audience is...

Camera Shots 1

Hello guys! and welcome back to my blog and these upcoming blogs are for now my favorites so far due to the action of this blog. Which has to do with Camera Shots. I'll be explaining what camera shots are and showing few examples of what they are and represent. Camera shots are usually defined by the frame of the item or person etc.. and as well are defined by the positioning of the camera. There are many varieties of Camera shots and before this I would just say " yeah it's just angles" but there is more to cameras than just angles. Now here is what I learned. These camera shots are known as the master shot or an establishment shot. It is a shot that captures the whole setting and as it says, basically establishes the setting of the scene. It is the first shot in most scenes just to get a feeling of what we are starting with. As you can see these are shots of American Senior High School and It establishes a scene of education and what school brings with them. W...

Canva two

Hello everyone, thanks for tuning back in!  Canva lessons 1, 2, and 3 have all been incredibly instructive. They have served as an introduction to a new creative realm I had never experienced before. I've learned how to trim videos, crop photographs, create graphics, and many other things thanks to these lectures. I've finished seven Canva lessons altogether; allow me to share some additional insights I've gained thus far. Lesson 5 I mastered photo editing in lesson 5. For instance, in the image on the left, I used the elements menu to find a picture of a mango and added two of them to my paper—one to display the original and the other of which I edited by going to the effects section of the edit photo menu and adding a shado...

We did a total of 7 lessons. In this blog I will be showing 3 of them & explaining what I did. Canva Le sson One In lesson one, we learned to just pull stuff from the elements tab in Canva. One is a sun, the second is 3 layers of space, moon, and the earth, and lastly a video of the solar system. Canva Lesson Two In this lesson, we learned how to crop a picture of ourselves and place one as well as place one in a frame. Canva Lesson Three In this final lesson for the Blog, We had to film a video longer than 5 seconds and then crop it and then put the cropped version i...
