We have reached the conclusion of the Camera Shots Trilogy... Definitely my most entertaining blogs to write so far. I had fun being able to take these pictures as they are known as different shots and to discuss what this blog will be about... different angles.
This shot is called a high angle shot. Just like an aerial shot this is the angle it per takes in. You do not have to be standing right above the character but high enough to be able to show that dominance over them and weakness to you. This character is weakened, gloomy, saddened, and etc.. It gives as well the audience a level of sympathy that is to be shown for the character as they are in defeat.
This is what you call a Canted or Dutch angle shot. This angle is to be portrayed by disorientating the audience with a twisted like perspective as if it was leaning or turned at a side. This angle shows the psychological unravelling of a scene or character in which is being shown.
So throughout this trilogy of Camera Shots. I have learned the arts of Master shots, Mid-shots, Aerial shots, and angles like High and Canted. This experience helps me gain further knowledge into what I am seeing in the real world and that things aren't just cool shots and look nice but they give meaning and feeling and understanding and sympathy and etc.. I very much enjoyed this topic and I hope you did too.
See you on the next one!
