Hello again!

How did your production skills develop throughout this project?

My production skills have hugely increased throughout this project, I can just genuinely say that I used my resources way better and I was able to actually be more creative and enjoy what I was doing.

During the beginning, when we did the preliminary task, I wasn't sure what a magazine contained, I thought it was a picture, title and whatever texts they wanted to have. That is not the case at all for magazines. Magazines are informative, educational and spread awareness and proper things to be known.  I can say that I am still a fan of low angle shots as both, my preliminary and final are low angle shots, but I tried harder for one of them.

In my cover page, low angle shot was used in my preliminary and final. In my preliminary, I added a bunch of texts that I thought would appeal to the magazine and were important, they were not. As well the colors were very different, but I always tried to keep the colors to be appealing to the picture and match well no matter the editing.

The same goes for my table of contents as I say it was the sloppiest one in but gradually became better in my final than in my preliminary, I was able to learn to remove backgrounds so the preliminary could have gone way better. I still managed to pull through and even as well incorporate a sneaky little phone frame for a mobile picture.

Lastly, my double page spread had the hugest growth due to the fact I just always thought a double page spread could be exactly like 2 pages and then I learned I was wrong, I also wasn't keen on removing backgrounds and it looked like a box, and my text wasn't good at all. After all the work and the changes, I was able to finalize an even better final double page spread that I was able be proud of, even writing and practicing how to do feature articles helped a lot.

Anatomy of Page Design

The double-page spread was my big challenge when working on the preliminary task, I didn't understand the concept and how to lay out the important things that the page consisted of. Today's blog? Understanding the anatomy of a page design. Whether it's for print or digital media, page design entails carefully arranging different elements to produce a layout that is both aesthetically pleasing and useful. Heading is important in the next factors of page design layout. The page number, chapter title, and section heading are examples of important information that is usually included in the header. It provides context and facilitates navigation. Apart from headings, there are subheadings. Subheadings help readers scan the content more easily and find specific information by segmenting it into smaller sections. Typically, they are bolder and smaller than the main headline. As the examp...

Masthead

Me and my partner Abeldar worked together to come up with a masthead that was proper and attractive enough to attract a crowd based on just the masthead. this is the masthead that we came up with based on our survey results and what we thought would be the best for a gaming issue magazine covering different topics and forms of gaming.  Our masthead and magazine title will be called GameVerse with sharp edged fonts that will provide uniqueness to our title and give a sense of video gaming like no other, GameVerse is to talk about multiple gaming issues including Arcade and Virtual Reality/Mobile gaming. Although that this is our final masthead title the color of the word Game will be different to our liking.
