Practicing Feature Articles 1

As I am working on my final piece for the magazine. I've been practicing some feature article writing with some leads. In this blog I'll be taking you guys on my first example of my first lead I ever wrote and with what information I came up with it about.

  1. Pranks have further developed since their funny beginning but how far can you go on a prank? The president of a car incorporation now has to respond to 18 infurious poeple waiting for a reward of a lifetime

Someone called 18 people in the city last night. The caller identified himself as the president of Rutherford Ford, Inc., 2780 Doss Boulevard. He told each of the people that they had just won a new car from his dealership. Interviewed by reporters today, most of the people who received the calls said that at first they just couldn't believe it. And they were right. They couldn't. The person who called was a prankster, and Allen Rutherford, president of the dealership, says he has no idea who he calls, and that he's spending all his time today trying to explain the situation to those 18 people. "Someone apparently has a sick idea of humor," Rutherford said. After convincing people they had won a new car, the caller asked them to drop by the dealership this morning to pick it up. All 18 were there when the dealership opened its doors at 9 a.m. "I told them we never offered to give away a car," Rutherford said. "One woman told me she couldn't believe she'd won, and then she told me she couldn't believe it when I told her she hadn't. Two other women began to cry, and a man is threatening to sue me."

The goal of this was to create whatever lead from this information. My lead was a more of a twist. In my next 2 blogs I will be giving an example of 2 more practice leads.

Final Magazine Product

Hello!! This blog is just showcasing my final magazine product containing my Cover Page, Table of Contents and Double Page Spread.

Anatomy of Page Design

The double-page spread was my big challenge when working on the preliminary task, I didn't understand the concept and how to lay out the important things that the page consisted of. Today's blog? Understanding the anatomy of a page design. Whether it's for print or digital media, page design entails carefully arranging different elements to produce a layout that is both aesthetically pleasing and useful. Heading is important in the next factors of page design layout. The page number, chapter title, and section heading are examples of important information that is usually included in the header. It provides context and facilitates navigation. Apart from headings, there are subheadings. Subheadings help readers scan the content more easily and find specific information by segmenting it into smaller sections. Typically, they are bolder and smaller than the main headline. As the examp...

Masthead

Me and my partner Abeldar worked together to come up with a masthead that was proper and attractive enough to attract a crowd based on just the masthead. this is the masthead that we came up with based on our survey results and what we thought would be the best for a gaming issue magazine covering different topics and forms of gaming.  Our masthead and magazine title will be called GameVerse with sharp edged fonts that will provide uniqueness to our title and give a sense of video gaming like no other, GameVerse is to talk about multiple gaming issues including Arcade and Virtual Reality/Mobile gaming. Although that this is our final masthead title the color of the word Game will be different to our liking.
