Practice Feature Article

 

        In this blog, I am going to be presenting to you my feature Article I wrote about Amaiyah based off the answers they provided me while questioning them. Here it is.

Lead How easy is it to flick the switch in your house, sometimes you’re tired and don’t want to get out of bed, sometimes you try being lazy and extend your foot or your leg to flick/press it, or sometimes you just get up and do it. Amaiyah is about to flip the switch on her educational journey and flip the switch on her life

Nut Graph Amaiyah’s life has always been regular to her, nothing really special ever happened until the day it was for her to change schools. Amaiyah changing schools was the turning point in her life as great opportunities were to arrive to her. 

Changing schools for a student is never easy as they have to meet new friends and new teachers. The day was coming for Amaiyah to meet her new challenges at Patriot Senior High School. 

The day came where Amaiyah would slowly start to know who she is and become the person she is striving to become in her life. 

               

 “ I want to go to Medical school” says Amaiyah as to what she wants to do after highschool due to the magnet progra m that her school has to offer. Her education is also reinforced by another great magnet program known as Cambridge that is setting an understanding for how important school is to her. “Switching schools was life”  changing The former school Amaiyah was in,  wasn’t doing enough to help improve and further progress the journey Amiyah is in, that is why her and her parents had to come to the agreement to make the ultimate decision of switching her out of her former school into the new beginning at Patriot Senior High School. 

 

Amiyah, someone who likes to be calm, and one of the ways she expresses her relaxation is through Art. “My favorite hobby is to paint, I find it very calming and relaxing.” Amaiyah has expressed her emotions and takes all the new changes into her life and throws it onto artwork, now it doesn’t specifically mean she draws what she's going through but her emotions is what decisively shapes her performance and her outcome. . 

As her life in her new highschool has developed over the years, Amaiyah has grown to be the person she wanted to be.“ I enjoy sports, my favorite sports are basketball & football & my favorite teams are The Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles lakers.”  Amaiyah has better strengthened her personality that she has always had, gaining her interest in basketball and football through the school sports team. 

Ending As life changing as switching schools was for Amaiyah, it was the best decision of her life. The feeling that was nerve racking and challenging has turned into a feeling of joy and confidence, something no one can take from her now. Amaiyah is on a path where no one but herself could stop her and that is all because of one switch. Never be afraid to switch from anything that slows you down, be open to what pushes you further.
