History of Educational Magazines

Hello again!

Continuing this blog about history, we now move onto the topic that I am considering to use as my main idea for my final task magazine. As we talked about the history of magazines, we discussed how there are a variety of topics and texts and types of magazines. My magazine will be about Education. I think Education is very important to the world as we know it. Whether it’s big lessons or small lessons, every lesson is important no matter the topic, resembling how every magazine is important no matter the topic. Education is something everyone should experience in life, whether it’s verbal education or formal education like school. It's just important.

Magazines are all about Education when you think of it, you are being educated and informed on whatever the topic is but I am more focused on formal education which is regarding high/elementary/middle schools, universities, colleges etc…

Researching this topic, the first educational topic magazine that was created dates back to 1835, it was labeled “The Educational Magazine The Educational Magazine, and Journal of Christian Philanthropy, and of Public Utility”. The next set in the periodical that happened in 1838 that ran until 1340 was named  "The Educational Magazine and Journal of Scholastic Literature" and then the 3rd series ran after that was just labeled “The Educational Magazine” that ran just up to 1841.

The Most Famous Magazine that regards Education is the Language Magazine, that is from Malibu, California and it is a monthly publication magazine that is rated number 1 out of 25 from the best magazines that are rated from traffic, social media followers & freshness.

Final Magazine Product

Hello!! This blog is just showcasing my final magazine product containing my Cover Page, Table of Contents and Double Page Spread.

Anatomy of Page Design

The double-page spread was my big challenge when working on the preliminary task, I didn't understand the concept and how to lay out the important things that the page consisted of. Today's blog? Understanding the anatomy of a page design. Whether it's for print or digital media, page design entails carefully arranging different elements to produce a layout that is both aesthetically pleasing and useful. Heading is important in the next factors of page design layout. The page number, chapter title, and section heading are examples of important information that is usually included in the header. It provides context and facilitates navigation. Apart from headings, there are subheadings. Subheadings help readers scan the content more easily and find specific information by segmenting it into smaller sections. Typically, they are bolder and smaller than the main headline. Masthead

Me and my partner Abeldar worked together to come up with a masthead that was proper and attractive enough to attract a crowd based on just the masthead. this is the masthead that we came up with based on our survey results and what we thought would be the best for a gaming issue magazine covering different topics and forms of gaming.  Our masthead and magazine title will be called GameVerse with sharp edged fonts that will provide uniqueness to our title and give a sense of video gaming like no other, GameVerse is to talk about multiple gaming issues including Arcade and Virtual Reality/Mobile gaming. Although that this is our final masthead title the color of the word Game will be different to our liking.
