Preliminary Task: Cover Page Analysis

Hello! As I mentioned in my previous blog towards the end, I'll be explaining what is on my cover page and further details describing it.

So as you could see there are many components in my cover page that are visibly explained as I edited using Canva. The Struggles I went through taking this picture was definitely the angle.  I wanted the main image to be a powerful strong character that would inspire people and inflict any interest in them. The best Angle for that was a low angle shot to make the character look more dominant. I also wanted to catch the characters muscles in another way of expressing strength through this image. The only struggle I had laying the page out was just the other texts that I wanted it to look aesthetically good. My friend Daniel was my key help and the character in this magazine as well as throughout it.

The character in this image is doing a workout called a "Bent-over row" which is basically when you bend over and start rowing towards you in a pulling motion. This workout directly works the mid-back and indirectly works out the bicep as well.

Lastly, I wanted to talk about the lighting which I wanted to be a clear one to show a type of expression that you don't have to be in the dark to look powerful but even in the light, you're stronger than ever.

Overall, I hope my Cover page WAS aesthetically captivating and enjoyable to understand.

Anatomy of Page Design

The double-page spread was my big challenge when working on the preliminary task, I didn't understand the concept and how to lay out the important things that the page consisted of. Today's blog? Understanding the anatomy of a page design. Whether it's for print or digital media, page design entails carefully arranging different elements to produce a layout that is both aesthetically pleasing and useful. Heading is important in the next factors of page design layout. The page number, chapter title, and section heading are examples of important information that is usually included in the header. It provides context and facilitates navigation. Apart from headings, there are subheadings. Subheadings help readers scan the content more easily and find specific information by segmenting it into smaller sections. Typically, they are bolder and smaller than the main headline. Masthead

Me and my partner Abeldar worked together to come up with a masthead that was proper and attractive enough to attract a crowd based on just the masthead. this is the masthead that we came up with based on our survey results and what we thought would be the best for a gaming issue magazine covering different topics and forms of gaming.  Our masthead and magazine title will be called GameVerse with sharp edged fonts that will provide uniqueness to our title and give a sense of video gaming like no other, GameVerse is to talk about multiple gaming issues including Arcade and Virtual Reality/Mobile gaming. Although that this is our final masthead title the color of the word Game will be different to our liking.
