General Blog Introduction

Hello, My name is Kristian and this is my introduction to my blog

The purpose of this blog is to document the process of creating a magazine to enhance my knowledge and develop my creative design skills. I hope to be able to explore many views of contexts and processes such as technology and productions. as well as to enjoy and take in the experience of the media and understand the role it takes in our lives as we read media almost every day.

In this blog, The media product I will be creating is a magazine. This magazine is to be strictly organized into split sections. The main task for this media product is a 4-page magazine which contains a front page, a table of contents, and a feature article that is at least 2 pages of information. I will be working with a group of 4 including myself and we are all producing our own style of magazine with the same instruction that I just provided above.

During this blog, skills and being open-minded to learn are very important. The skills I have now are the ability to be open to new things in the world of media. Even if it’s something I wouldn’t like, I would be down to find a way to get into it and change my view on it. My other skill would be the skill I have in photography and image admiring. I do need for this magazine four original photos that are to be posted on each page.

The blogs I will be creating are several. Including this blog as an introduction to the process of creating this magazine. Researching ways to be able to build a proper magazine. Planning on what my magazine will be about through multiple blogs and how I will be setting it up. My production blogs will be concentrating on the images I put up and how I place and structure them. Lastly, my reflection will be how everything I learned and how well my skills progressed over time as i learned more about the course of Media Studies.

Thank you for reading my first blog. More to come. Kristian.

Hello!! This blog is just showcasing my final magazine product containing my Cover Page, Table of Contents and Double Page Spread.

Anatomy of Page Design

The double-page spread was my big challenge when working on the preliminary task, I didn't understand the concept and how to lay out the important things that the page consisted of. Today's blog? Understanding the anatomy of a page design. Whether it's for print or digital media, page design entails carefully arranging different elements to produce a layout that is both aesthetically pleasing and useful. Heading is important in the next factors of page design layout. The page number, chapter title, and section heading are examples of important information that is usually included in the header. It provides context and facilitates navigation. Apart from headings, there are subheadings. Subheadings help readers scan the content more easily and find specific information by segmenting it into smaller sections. Typically, they are bolder and smaller than the main headline. As the examp...

Masthead

Me and my partner Abeldar worked together to come up with a masthead that was proper and attractive enough to attract a crowd based on just the masthead. this is the masthead that we came up with based on our survey results and what we thought would be the best for a gaming issue magazine covering different topics and forms of gaming.  Our masthead and magazine title will be called GameVerse with sharp edged fonts that will provide uniqueness to our title and give a sense of video gaming like no other, GameVerse is to talk about multiple gaming issues including Arcade and Virtual Reality/Mobile gaming. Although that this is our final masthead title the color of the word Game will be different to our liking.
